Details

The pioneering lighting designer Poul Henningsen drew from scientific principles to create beautiful multi-shade lighting that offers glare-free, softly diffused light. The PH 2/1 Table Lamp (1925) he designed for Louis Poulsen features his renowned three-shade system, which softly directs light downward without glare and shadows, while the opal glass shades create a soft, ambient glow. The body is crafted from brass in a range of finishes, with a 10’ fabric-covered cord that includes an integrated switch. Accommodates a G9 LED bulb (not included). Made in Denmark.

Poul Henningsen

Trained as an architect, Poul Henningsen is best known for a series of lighting fixtures that resulted from his fascination with the then-new technology of the electric light bulb. In 1925, one of these fixtures won first prize for lighting at the International Exposition of Decorative Arts in Paris. The next year it was put into production by Louis Poulsen & Co.
